After I finished settling in I returned to the foyer and called a few of the otehr people to see if anybody wanted to go for a tour. Jakob was the only taker and we were ready to leave just as the shuttle driver started his lunch break, so we decided to walk to Orchard Road.
It was quite humid with spots of rain but it didn't take us too long and we passed some parks and old buildings on the way.
There seem to be s number of "new" shopping centres since I was last here and we wandered through a few for a while.
I eventually found out that I could get a SIM at a 7-11 store and then found one. It cost $15 with $18 credit. I bought 1gb of data for $7 so I have still a lot left for phone calls.
I had some KFC for lunch using the logic that dinner is at a Chinese and there is a lot of eating still to come.
We picked up some drinks and then caught the underground back to the hotel. We were lucky that the hotel shuttle bus pulled up just as we were about to start the 600m uphil walk through the park.
