Puzzles, games and speakers

Saturday

The speaker meeting prpoer started today. I awoke about 5-30 after getting to bed at 2am.

We moved the conference to the larger ballroom for speakers (and later dinenr) and the room behond it was the new hospitality room. There were softdrinks and beer, some wine, far too many chips, chocolates and lollies and some puzzles.

There were some out door options for those who weanted to Bike or hike as well as the speaker program. This started late due to problems with the projector but there were session on bias, a vet's tibetan adventure, a gorilla keeper. "What the opposite sex wants", ice haloes and the best "worst films". I didn't go to all of these and spent some time doing puzzles and chatting in the HR.

Dinner was also in the ball room and with a "Sound of Music" theme, many people dressed up appropriately. The guest speaker was a man who had broken his neck at a high school ice hockey match and how he had adapted to a life in a hweel chair. He had finished school and become and engineer.

There was a noither room set up for games and I played a couple fo new ones and a variation of Fluxx (which I won) and lead them in a game of Werwolves. They showed the Sound of Music film with optional sing-a-long but I gave that a miss and just chatted in the hospitality. I was somewhat suprised when we realised it was 4-30 am so I was up 24 hours straight.

Sunday

Iwas surpised whn my alarm didn't go off as I wanted to attend to 9am session by the Canadian Chair on her life in The police. I did wake up in time, however, and realised I'd set it for 8-20 pm by mistake. The second speaker was on Lord of the rings.

I packed and checked out before heading for brunch. WE now have about 30 minutes before we start the Road trip.
